LAN-slide has a limited number of PCs, monitors & consoles to hire out to participants during the event.
Competitions
LAN-slide runs a number of bracketed and non-bracketed comps during the day. Keep in mind, depending on time and demand we may not be able to run competitions for all these games.
Event FAQ
Can I bring my console device?
Yes. We try to schedule tournaments that allow cross-play, however, you may not be able to participant in the PC based competitions.
Note: We do have PCs available for hire for the duration of the event.
Will my gear be protected overnight
Between the hours of midnight and 9am all participants will be required to leave the LAN area. The area will be locked during these times, for the security of the player's gear.
Is there Wi-Fi?
Yes - However the Wi-Fi will be available, however, is not ideal for playing games, we HIGHLY recommend using a wired connection if possible.
What food and drink options are available?
Throughout the course of the day, meals will be included in your ticket price. This includes breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and supper. Outside of these meal times, you will be able to purchase snacks and drinks.
How do I participate in competitions?
Competitions are open to all attendees, please listen to announcements on the day for specific instructions.
If you have any questions or are looking for a team please don’t hesitate to ask us on discord or an Event Coordinator on the day, we want everyone to be able to participate!
Why aren’t you running my favourite game as a tournament?
LAN-slide determines the schedule based on demand. Unfortunately LAN-slide can’t accommodate every popular game as a competition due to sponsorship and team capacity.
We can help facilitate these games by assisting with connecting other players and/or setting up servers, please speak to an Event Coordinator.
Where is The Gamers Retreat located?
Philip Island Adventure Resort is one of the campsites hosted by CYC (Christian Youth Camps). It is hosted in Cowes in Philip Island, Victoria.
You can access the campsite from Philip Island Rd in Cowes. The entrance is located just before A Maze N Things, which for a lot of us has a lot fond memories when growing up.
